EcoChic Geneva

EcoChic Geneva featured 52 prominent fashion designers from 40 countries who united on the catwalk on the 21st January 2010 at the Palais des Nations, home of the United Nations Office in Geneva. The groundbreaking fashion event was co-organised by UNCTAD and included the Redefining Sustainability in the International Agenda Seminar and an exhibition that celebrated the positive impact that fashion can have on biodiversity conservation.

The inspiring garments, revealed in the beautifully decorated Human Rights and Alliance of Civilizations Room, included a variety of biodiversity-conserving materials such as hemp, bamboo, alpaca, soya, organic cotton, organic silk and African blackwood.

This show was art directed by Holly Suan Gray.

We loved this because over 450 influential figures from government, private sector and non-governmental organizations were delivered a tangible way to engage with the positive power of fashion to protect biodiversity.
