The EcoChic Design Award Hong Kong 2012 Semi-Finalists’ exhibition and workshops

The EcoChic Design Award Hong Kong 2012 Semi-Finalists’ Exhibition will be on display at the K-11 Art Mall from 21st April to 6th May, 2012. The exhibition boasts the 12 semi-finalists’ up-cycled designs and renowned British sustainable fashion designers Orsola de Castros, Ada Zanditon´s and Junky Styling´s creations. This exhibition also marks the launch of The EcoChic People’s Award that is voted by the public online hk.ecochicdesignaward.com.

To engage the public and put their design skills to the test, the semi-finalists will be holding three workshops demonstrating how consumers can easily apply sustainable design techniques to re-style their own wardrobes.

Zero-waste workshop


22 April, 3.30-5pm

In the first workshop participants will be challenged to create a stylish accessory with zero fabric wastage.

Up-cycling workshop


28 April, 3.30-5pm

In the second workshop participants will up-cycle industry fabric waste into their very own scarf.

Reconstruction workshop

29 April, 3.30-5pm

In the final workshop participants will creatively reconstruct secondhand shirts into a ‘new’ garment.
