「重新在國際議程上定義可持續性」研討會

與聯合國貿易暨發展會議(UNCTAD)合辦，「重新在國際議程上定義可持續性」的研討會(Redefining Sustainability in the International Agenda Seminar)在2010年1月20日於聯合國辦公室總部日內瓦舉行。在慶祝聯合國舉辦的國際生物多樣性年之時，這個研討會提供了一個平台讓時裝和豪華業界討論，透過他們本身的運作和國際供應鏈，各自宣傳和支持保護生物多樣性的角色。

作為經常與生物多樣性有關聯並常常從中得益的單位，時裝和豪華業界有機會及責任更深入地參與管理及保護。透過提供各種原材料、技術和商業機會，生物多樣性創造不同機會讓商業創新發展。可惜，這種關係並不總是互惠互利。採購及提取原材料可引致人口下降，繼而損害更廣的生態系統。同一時間，紡織品的轉換過程及其他產品的製造過程耗用大量清水和能量，導致空氣、水和泥土污染。

研討會舉行同期還有「衣酷適日內瓦」時裝表演及「衣酷適日內瓦」可持續設計展覽。
