ABOUT
The Forever REDRESSED Exhibition contained reconstructed secondhand garments designed by six prominent Hong Kong fashion designers that took place at Hong Kong’s Harvey Nichols from 21 June until 4 July 2011. Many of the contributing Hong Kong designers sourced their raw materials from Hong Kong’s numerous used clothes recycling banks in an effort to drive consumer awareness about sustainable clothing disposal. Once reconstructed, these ‘new’ pieces demonstrated innovative sustainable design techniques to well-heeled and seasoned fashionistas, whilst also promoting Hong Kong’s designers shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the biggest names in fashion in one of the worlds’ most luxurious department shops.
As well as the exhibited pieces, Harvey Nichols offered selected reconstructed pieces for retail to raise funds to benefit Redress.
Prior to the exhibition, we presented the same collection at the Forever Better with Miele, by Redress fashion show.
