10 for 10
Redress is 10!
In September 2017, we invited organisations to be part of Redress' 10th anniversary celebrations. Joining the movement creating positive change, and supporting our work across the world, 14 brands, both big and small came on board for our 10 for 10 campaign, and donated a percentage of their profits from the month of September, and many who have since joined us as ongoing donation partners.
Since 2007, Redress has worked hard to cut waste out of fashion through our programmes to educate, inspire and drive positive change with consumers, designers and the industry. But too many clothing and textiles are still ending up in our landfills every year. In Hong Kong this figure is approximately 111,690 tonnes per year; China generates over 26 million tonnes of industry and consumer textile waste; and the European Union creates 9.4 billion tonnes of textiles that are either landfilled or incinerated. Our work is still needed, and you can be part of the change.
To rase awareness around the positive things individuals can do, as part of the main campaign we held a social media campaign sharing 10 things that each individual can do to make a start towards a more conscious wardrobe.

HOW CAN I SUPPORT REDRESS?
There are many other ways to participate, by helping us to fundraise in your workplace, school or as an individual.... Donate directly to support our work here, get in touch with hannah@redress.com.hk if you are interested in finding out more about partnerships, or explore our ideas below.
You or your team can get involved in fundraising in many ways – for example by running 10km, holding a bake sale with 10 types of cakes, get 10 friends together for a swapping party with a entry donation to us, selling 10 pieces of your unwanted clothes and giving Redress 10% of the profits – we are open to all types of ideas!
Hold a Get Redressed day at your place of work or school (a dress down day with an ethical twist) and ask for a $10 donation for participants to join in. You could hold events and activities to raise awareness too.
Challenge yourself, friends, colleagues and family by joining the movement! For example you could try a capsule wardrobe of 10 pieces for 10 days, or wear and restyle one key item 10 different ways over 10 days.
