Redress and 12 of #HKFashionBloggers notorious fashionistas joined forces in an effort to rattle consumers’ wardrobes and consciousness about Hong Kong’s high textile waste rates. Did you know that on average we throw 217 tonnes of textiles into Hong Kong’s landfills everyday? Do you know how fashionably fantastic many of the clothes are that we discard?
During ‘12 Days of Christmas Campaign’ Redress’ founder, Christina Dean, and 12 #HKFashionBloggers decked themselves in dumped, discarded but delightful clothes salvaged from Friends of the Earth (Hong Kong)’s used clothes recycling bins.
Every day from 1-12 December 2012, we released a new re-styled ‘Look of the day’ on our Facebook page and gave consumers 12 fashion and environmental reasons to ♥ textile waste as much as we do.
