There is much to love about fashion but producing new clothes can be wasteful. Redress is passionate about helping brands to minimise their impacts on our environment. R Cert clothes help to lighten your clothing’s environmental impact by reducing:
The use of water in the supply chain.*
The use of electricity in the supply chain.*
Greenhouse gas emissions in the supply chain.*
Textile waste by helping brands to ‘up-cycle’ their textile waste into products of higher quality. This helps to prevent textile waste being ‘down-recycled’ into products of lower quality and this helps to reduce textile waste entering landfill.
The use of pesticides, which are typically used for growing virgin fibres like cotton.
The use of dyestuffs, if the recycled textiles do not need to be re-dyed following recycling.
