Captivated by alumni designer Lia Kassif’s Redress Design Award 2017 collection (which combined military uniforms with bridalwear industry waste), up-cycled luxury brand, The R Collective jumped at the chance to work with Lia to develop their own capsule collection.
Launched exclusively at Lane Crawford Hong Kong and Shanghai, this new collaboration is The R Collective’s most challenging collection to date and involved deconstructing ex-military uniforms from Israel, the US and China and reconstructing them to create powerful, iconic pieces.
With military being a staple cyclical trend on the catwalks - back again in force for FW2018 - this collection could not be more timely. Seven one-of-a-kind styles in a myriad of khaki shades form the capsule collection, including a reversible trench, a shirt dress, and silk shirt.
Th R Collective continue to work with our pool of talented alumni designers, which in addition to Lia, includes Kévin Germanier, Victor Chu and Kate Morris to prove to the wider industry that sustainable clothes are not only aesthetically beautiful but also technically and commercially viable. The Redress Design Award 2018 Winner joins The R Collective team in the coming months.
