Hong Kong’s largest clothing consumer awareness campaign returns May 2024 with the theme ‘Your Clothes, Our Planet’! Expanding with new activities with a unique focus on storytelling, Get Redressed Month invites Hong Kong consumers to rethink the relationship between themselves, clothing, and the environment, and discover more sustainable ways to embrace fashion in their daily lives.
According to our 2020 study, two in five Hong Kongers discard their clothes after a year or less. Many of them will end up in landfill, where we send an estimated 404 tonnes of textiles daily in Hong Kong, of which 50% is estimated to be clothing.
New this year, Get Redressed Month is collaborating with the broader community — from influencers to ordinary individuals — to share stories about their favourite clothing items, to be featured in a public photo exhibition and communication campaign.
Corporates, schools, and retailers are also invited to participate in a series of fun, hands-on activities including clothing drives, a three-day clothes-sorting event (the Sort-a-thon), and educational talks to increase awareness and action on combating fashion waste.
Sign up by 29 March to participate in this energetic and educational campaign!
