This October, join Redress and show your support for a more sustainable future with our brand new campaign: ‘Wear Secondhand Day’ encourages Hong Kongers to discover and participate in the positive power of fashion, and anyone can participate!
In Hong Kong, we landfill an estimated 202 tonnes of clothing daily — many of which could be reused, resold, or repurposed. Embracing secondhand style is one of the simplest ways to get started in having a positive impact and reducing this staggering waste statistic.
Participation is simple:
Choose a day with your company, school, or as an individual (For primary schools, Wear Secondhand Day will be 17 October)
Wear secondhand clothing that day — and talk about it!
Make a donation to Redress to support our work in empowering people to reduce clothing’s negative environmental impacts
Plus, look out for our campaign posters on the MTR! The posters encourage the public to choose secondhand clothes that are “as good as new” over new clothes that put pressure on our planet’s finite resources.
