2020 has not been without its challenges for the Redress team. Due to COVID-19, we have been forced to cancel numerous fundraising and community events throughout the year, and have had to find new ways to deliver our programmes - including taking our entire Redress Design Award and Get Redressed Month programmes virtual.
Our team has worked hard to ensure that we continue to deliver the same impact and continue driving our mission, to cut waste out of fashion.
The most recent blow has been the cancellation of yet another critical event: our Winter Get Redressed Pop Up shop. Our secondhand pop-up shops serve two purposes: firstly to encourage Hongkongers to extend the life of their own clothes, and reduce the carbon footprint of their wardrobes by buying secondhand; and secondly, to help us raise vital funds towards our operations costs. Without them, we struggle to cover our everyday running costs.
If you are able to donate any amount to help ensure our work can continue, it is greatly appreciated. At times like this more than ever, it is the support of individuals like you that makes our work possible.
If you aren’t able to donate, there are other ways you can support us!
We work with schools and corporates - if you know someone whose workplace would be interested in learning more about textile waste in Hong Kong and how we can keep our clothes in use for longer, reach out to us here.
