This year, due to the global pandemic, Get Redressed Month will look a little bit different to previously, and we are excited to share our new plans!
Get Redressed Clothing Drive
Our signature Get Redressed Clothing Drive is now available for everyone to access, with collection boxes in multiple locations across Hong Kong in shops, restaurants, malls and major office building lobbies.
Final locations will be revealed on 22 September, but we can confirm that our public partners will include: American Vintage, D2 Place, Gap, Hobbs, IKEA, K11 Nature Discovery Park, Lane Crawford, OnTheList, PizzaExpress, Redbox Storage, Rue Madame, Timberland, TKO Plaza, The Mills Fabrica, The Wild Lot and Whistles. If you have been doing your own wardrobe edits and need a place to donate your unwanted clothes,we are here for you!
Get Redressed Month Events
We will also be hosting a series of bilingual, fun and educational online and offline events, all focused on extending the life of clothes and changing attitudes towards clothing to reduce fashion waste and the negative impact our wardrobes have on the environment. Confirmed events include:
- Tuesday 29 September - Redress x Retykle: How To Raise Conscious Consumers
An in-person event at the Retykle warehouse, for parents who would like to make more informed sustainable fashion choices with their children. Topics covered include:
Issues in the fashion industry, with lens on parents and children
How to dress your children sustainably
Involving your children in their very own wardrobe edit
What to do with clothes you no longer need
Engaging your children in sustainable shopping
- Thursday 8 October - Fashion, Sustainability and COVID - The HK Outlook
Join Redress Founder, Christina Dean, Gloria Yu, and Aamir Sakhia, COO, Lane Crawford as they discuss the results of our Hong Kong fashion consumption survey, asking: what is the future for sustainability in Hong Kong post-COVID-19?

- Saturday 17 October: Online Denim Up-cycle Workshop in English
Friday 23 October: Online Denim Up-cycle Workshop in Cantonese
A fun and music-filled online crafting session where participants will learn three embroidery techniques to jazz up their jeans. The first 50 sign-ups for each event will receive a free up-cycling kit from Redress.

Get Redressed Day - Mark Your Calendars!
Friday 16 October 2020 is our official #GetRedressed Day! It’s easy to run our dress casual day in offices or schools - all you have to do is select a date, spread the word and Get Redressed by wearing something repaired, swapped, up-cycled, secondhand, or old and loved.

In collaboration with PR firm Edelman, we will be asking Hongkongers to share their most treasured clothing items online with us. We are hoping to find some of the oldest garments and interesting stories behind local fashion! Join us in sharing your most treasured garment - keep an eye on #GetRedressed on Instagram.
A public advertising campaign will be launched in Hong Kong’s MTR stations, local publications and across social media platforms
