Following a decade of pop-ups to reduce clothing waste and raise critical funds to support Redress’ work, we announce our permanent space!
Hong Kongers can now shop the Redress Closet all year round! The Redress Closet, our new curated secondhand clothing and accessories shop has opened in Sham Shui Po to support our mission to reduce the city’s clothing waste. Building on Redress’ decade of organising secondhand pop-ups, this move to a permanent shop is in response to consumers’ growing desires to be part of a solution, whilst also responding to Hong Kong’s worsening textile waste. By offering a wide selection of high quality clothing at accessible prices – from womens and menswear to accessories and bags – The Redress Closet showcases the beauty of choosing pre-loved instead of new, and works to change mindsets and practices to keep clothing out of landfill.
“What we put into our closet matters,” said Christina Dean, Founder of Redress. “Fashion is one of the world’s most polluting industries. We have always believed in the positive power of fashion and we want people to love fashion, in a more sustainable way. Complementing our long-standing secondhand charity pop-ups with this permanent shop is one way we are supporting Hong Kongers in making sustainable fashion choices.”
The Redress Closet is part of Redress’ expanding work – with an objective to align consumers, industry and government to measurably reduce the amount of post-consumer clothing entering landfills, starting with Hong Kong.
The Redress Closet’s operating hours are Wednesday - Sunday 12 pm - 7 pm. Happy sustainable shopping!
