Redress Designer Residency explores fashion waste in Hong Kong

Building on our goal to empower emerging fashion designers to create circular products, Redress is spearheading a new Designer Residency programme. This project supports a selection of Redress Alumni designers through collaborative projects that develop their skills and knowledge, whilst showcasing solutions for waste and providing valuable cross-cultural exposure.

We also aim to educate and empower fashion consumers to buy better, keep longer, and dispose responsibly, through public interaction events and activities with the designers.

From 2024 to early 2025, the programme will provide resident designers with mentorship and access to studio space to support the development of their careers. They will also join the Redress team on various activities, including the mapping of clothing waste, design thinking workshops, and more.

Kicking off with Mondrian Hong Kong

We’re excited to announce the first Residency with Tiffany Pattinson and Mondrian Hong Kong’s Corner Shop. ‘Shell scapes: Reforming waste’ is a performance art piece by Tiffany, inspired by Hong Kong’s environmental and sentimental connection with oysters, that reuses unwanted garments collected through Redress’ Takeback Programme. This September, you can watch Tiffany at work on site, creating art pieces for sale with profits supporting the work of Redress.

21, 22, 28 & 29 September, 2–5pm and 5:30–9pm
