2025 Rising Talents grow their sustainability knowledge and passion

Our Rising Talents programme offers an exclusive sustainability enrichment experience to a selection of Redress Design Award applicants demonstrating exceptional potential.

We welcomed six Rising Talents for our fourth cohort this year: Nadav Ben David, Israel; Lea Liang, Mainland China; Lou Suchel, France; Shiyuan Zhu, Hong Kong; Meerim Mamatova, United Kingdom; and Nicoya Henry, Antigua and Barbuda.

Each Rising Talent was paired with an alum mentor and received an in-depth tailored mentorship with one or more industry experts. At the end of the three-month programme, the designers demonstrated their newfound sustainability knowledge by pitching an improved version of their original Redress Design Award applications.

Congratulations to Lea Liang, who demonstrated the greatest improvement in sustainability knowledge through the programme! For her efforts, she will be awarded a one-year CLO individual license.

“It’s such a great pleasure to be part of this amazing programme and mentor Lea! She told me this programme does not just bring her ideas, knowledge, and skills, but also gives her hope to develop her fashion practice sustainably,” shared Redress alum, Jesse Lee, one of her programme mentors.

To support our homegrown talent in Hong Kong, Shiyuan Zhu will receive a one-month access to the Designerooms co-working space.

All participants also receive a selection of digital fashion books from Bloomsbury Publishing to continue building their expertise in sustainable design.

Upon completing the programme, the Rising Talents join the Redress Alumni Network, which provides regular opportunities for developing their careers in sustainable fashion. They will also remain eligible to apply to future cycles of the competition.
