Our esteemed panel of industry expert judges includes Orsola de Castro, author and fashion activist; Dr. Christina Dean, Founder and Board Chair, Redress; Rod Henderson, President, TAL Apparel Ltd; and Angus Tsui, Creative Director, ANGUS TSUI and multiple award-winning Alumnus of the Redress Design Award.
With textile waste projected to increase by 60% between 2015 and 2030*, the need for circular solutions, which keep materials in use, becomes more critical. Together with Lead Sponsor, the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, the Redress Design Award educates designers from every corner of the world to design for a less wasteful and polluting fashion industry, and this year’s Semi-finalists ingeniously prove the possibilities in innovative design.
The Semi-finalists now join the 350-strong Redress Alumni Network, which offers ongoing support to designers as they develop their careers in sustainable fashion, including retail collaborations and media connections.
The Alumni Network includes previous contestants from 40 countries, who have gone on to make waves for sustainable fashion around the world, including dressing celebrities such as Lady Gaga, Heidi Klum, Taylor Swift, and Sunmi.
