Redress Celebrates Nils Hauser’s Collaboration with Timberland’s Tokyo Design Collective

Redress is excited to announce the latest milestone for our Redress Design Award 2023 winner, Nils Hauser, whose collaboration with the Tokyo Design Collective (TDC) has resulted in a standout graphic T-shirt. Nils’ limited edition design, which dropped last week in Japan, will be available to consumers in the APAC region, including Mainland China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Korea and Japan.

As the Redress Design Award 2023 winner, Nils earned the opportunity to join Timberland’s design team at VF Corporation’s Tokyo Design Collective (TDC), where he contributed to shaping the overall concept for the Spring/Summer 2025 collection. His hands-on experience with TDC offered insight into global fashion markets and design innovation, solidifying his understanding of sustainable fashion practices at a corporate level.

Nils travelled to Tokyo in October 2023 for an immersive experience that included introductions to the VF Japan team, market research, and collaboration with TDC on design development. During his trip, he also engaged with students at Bunka Fashion College, contributed to the conceptualisation of Timberland’s SS26 vision, and visited Spiber Lab, a pioneering biomaterials company. Additionally, he spent time with VF Corporation’s sustainability team, gaining deeper knowledge about industry-leading responsible design practices.

Reflecting on his experience, Nils shared, “Collaborating with Timberland and working alongside the Tokyo Design Collective has been an incredible learning experience. The opportunity to engage with industry experts and see the design process on a global scale has been invaluable.”

At Redress, we are proud to support emerging designers like Nils as they take bold steps toward a more sustainable future in fashion.
