Join us in ‘Redressing the Lion Dance’! We’re merging Hong Kong’s intangible cultural heritage with fashion sustainability in collaboration with Ha Kwok Cheung, a longstanding dragon and lion dance team with 90+ years of history in Hong Kong. Thanks also to the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA) of the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region for their funding support.
Redressing the Lion Dance Exhibition
We selected two local Hong Kong design talents, Pearl Leung of Pearl Leung Style and Eric Wong of Absurd Laboratory, to each design a lion dance showpiece upcycled from unwearable post-consumer textiles from our Clothing Collection Programme. Their designs, which debuted at an inaugural performance at Hong Kong Fashion Fest in November, will be shown at the exhibition alongside two other lion heads made by Hong Kong Design Institute (HKDI) students.
