School Activities
Our education programmes with primary and secondary schools focus on driving positive behavioural change amongst Hong Kong’s youth. We aim to not just help students learn about the environmental impact of their clothing choices, but also to encourage changes in habits and get students excited about making a life-long commitment to sustainability by guiding them to reflect on the impact they can make for people, the community and the environment as consumers and future leaders.

“The students at The HKFYG KK Cheng Kindergarten took part in Redress’ ‘Yoyo and the World’s Coolest T-shirt’ book reading activity. The story not only helped students learn about the different materials clothes are made from, but also taught students sustainable living tips, helping develop habits of better handling old clothing and clothes that no longer fit.”

“Island schools Elements class “Fashion Forward” participated with The Redress Clothing Drive in 2019. This worked well with their deep learning under Citizenship where they demonstrate their ability to think like global citizens, consider global issues and real-world problems that impact human and environmental sustainability. The students were inspired by their meeting with Redress, who gave an informative presentation on their work, links with other charities within Hong Kong and their support for Designers who address sustainability issues in their work”
Island School

“A very informative and interactive presentation highlighting the impact of the effect of the fashion industry on the environment. The students were all aware of Recycle but weren’t familiar with Reduce and Reuse. It was extremely worthwhile and has had a really meaningful impact on the students’ attitude.”

Get Redressed month
Since its launch in 2018, Get Redressed Month has been Hong Kong’s largest consumer awareness campaign about circular fashion. Organised by Redress, this annual campaign gathers 120+ corporates, clubs, organisations and schools to raise awareness about the environmental impact of our clothing choices and shift attitudes and habits towards reducing clothing waste.
Educational talks
We offer school talks to both Primary and Secondary schools across Hong Kong. Our curriculum is designed with the EDB’s learning objectives and curricula in mind, cover academic subjects and generic skills to educate the younger generation on topics related to fashion overconsumption and overproduction, greenwashing, production and manufacturing practices, and much more.
WORKSHOPS
We provide a variety of hands-on workshops to teach students how to extend the life of clothing through introducing fun sewing skills to repair, transform, and enhance clothes. In addition, our original interactive board game ‘Our Jeans and the Planet’, will engage students to learn about the environmental and social impact of clothing production. They will investigate how each stakeholder influences the decision-making in the production chain and how consumers can have an impact on the outcome.
